Last friday, GA participated in the Spain Today, an international conference organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and University Utrecht.

With renowned speakers political scientist David Cantalapiedra & economist Daniel Lacalle, we ventured into the dynamic shifts in Spain’s political and economical environment.

GA, represented by Hugo Abrial and Jelle Timmermans, was invited to host a panel discussion to directly ask thought-provoking questions to the experts and spark insightful debates.

We delved into the current problems of the EU and how to bring it back to ‘the good old days’. Furthermore, we looked at the recent Amnestia law which pardons Catalonian seperatists. This led to a fierce debate where both experts stressed how the Amnestia infringed Spain’s Constitution.

Overall, it was a very insightful and fun experience. We want to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UU, specifically Ms. Massink and Ms. Rodríguez, for organising the event. We hope to see everyone in another edition next year!
