Step 01 Before You Reach Out Complete the Applied History Crash Course before contacting us. It teaches the methodological tools — thesis, causation, sources, temporality — that GA! pieces are built on. Writers who have not completed it are not ready to pitch.
Step 02 — You Are Here Get in Touch Use the form on this page to reach out to the Publications Committee. Tell us your topic and angle. If the committee agrees to work with you, the Publications Director will sign a Topic Approval Record with you — agreeing the scope, thesis direction, and deadline before you begin writing.
Steps 03–08 Write, Submit & Review Once your topic is approved, write your piece against GA!’s editorial standards, complete the pre-submission checklist, and submit via the submissions page. Your piece is reviewed by the Publications Director and then by a member of the Publications Committee before a final decision is made.
