As one of the Netherlands’s leading historians in the fields of security, international relations and applied history, Professor de Graaf has been an important supporter of GA! since its early development. She has always played an important role in encouraging young people to engage critically with international affairs, history and contemporary global challenges. Through her encouragement, contributions and continued engagement with our initiatives, she has played a meaningful role in helping us shape our mission.

From the beginning, GA! has aimed to bridge historical analysis with contemporary international affairs through events, publications, podcasts and collaboration with academic and policy institutions. Having Professor de Graaf as Founding Patron reflects both this shared vision and our continued ambition to strengthen the role of applied history in public discourse.
